STAR Program
This STAR4D® program (Spray Technique Analysis and Research for Defense) is an enhancement of the Iowa Waste Reduction Center's former "STAR" program and is headed by Rick Klein. The new program trains military spray technicians and training instructors. The website provides information on new technologies and useful tips that benefit all painters in improving their techniques and reducing paint waste and emissions.
The DfE Best Practices Outreach Kit, developed for site visits and train-the-trainer workshops, serves as an excellent resource for shops. The Kit contains best practices checklists for each auto refinish activity, fact sheets, case studies, health and safety information, lists of manufacturers and suppliers of equipment, and other useful information for shop owners and technicians.
Training Videos from the California Department of Toxic Substances Control's "Auto Body & Paint Shops Project" promote cost-effective methods for auto body and paint shops to reduce waste and emissions, improve compliance with enrivonmental regulations and reduce operating costs. |
